This is my contribution to the 2021 National Solo Album Month (NaSoAlMo) challenge - basically, to compose and record, from scratch, at least 29 minutes of music which didn't exist before the challenge began, and to do so entirely within the month of November.

2021 is the seventh year I have completed the NaSoAlMo challenge. I have faced "hurdles" in other years, but this time around, I was presented with a pretty substantial one. I was planning all along to make an instrumental "ambient guitar"-type album, but the electric guitar I wished to use, had to go in for a "service" in early November, to correct some issues I didn't feel could wait.

To cut a long story short: I got the guitar back (fixed) nearly three weeks later... meaning I essentially had one weekend to produce the album, or admit defeat and drop out of the challenge. As you can guess: I decided to find out what I could come up with in a weekend... and here it is: a collection of "spontaneous" pieces (some improvised, some composed) for electric guitar, guitar-synth and assorted devices.

A brief technical note: the closing "title track" of this album, is a sound-collage which I "performed" in real-time, using the iPad app Borderlands Granular. I imported some of the pieces I recorded for this album, and used BG to trigger samples from the recordings to create an ambient soundscape.

Take them as they are, and I hope you enjoy them.
