about

Song 7: a quick one with the Yamaha guitalele (first this year). I think it sort of speaks for itself - it's a bit influenced by Elvis Presley's earliest ballads for the Sun label (especially "I Love You Because" and "Harbor Lights"), but with my own "spin" on the theme.

Recorded on iPad (Multitrack DAW) via Sonic Port VX, with guitalele, vocal, electric guitar (Ministar Testar) and upright-bass from iFretless Bass (app). I posted the original mix from my iPad and iPhone as I couldn't get to the Mac at the time; however, the version presented here is the remix I did in Logic.

lyrics

I can say “I love you”
And sound as if it’s true
The easiest words I’ve ever known
The moods and temper swings
Are just some of those things
It’s worth it, not to have to be alone

How I can cope with you
And you can cope with me
Is one of love’s marvellous mysteries
True, opposites attract
But I know another fact
You make this world rotate for me

I can say “I love you”
And I often do
Although I feel that I should tell you more
We know the best and worst of us
Which gives us plenty to discuss
Through all the winding years we have in store

How I can cope with you...
