about

On this track, we use the Richard Storrs Willis tune for this carol, which is more commonly heard in the States than in Europe. Shortly after we recorded it, Tim read that the tune as he played it, has a slight mistake resulting from a typesetting error in an early-20th century copy of the sheet music, which was then replicated and adopted subsequently by performers and publishers. We figured that, well, we'd already recorded it by then, and who's going to know... apart from you?

For those interested, this track showcases Tim's multitracked Tom Yocky electric lap dulcimer, which (aside from a little bit of guitar synth) is the only instrument heard in the first half of the piece.

We've made this track available as a free download - call it a "taster" for the EP, or our Christmas present to you (or even both!). If you like it, please consider buying the whole EP - "the kids need their shoes", you know ;-)
