Song 7 felt as if it didn't come that easily to me - in fact, it probably owes its existence to an hour or two I spent poring over the iPad, "jamming" a backing track in FunkBox and Garageband. The lyrics weren't easy either, and although I think the end result came out quite well, I wonder if I'm in the centre of the "FAWM U-curve" I posted to the forum about... ah well, halfway through now!

(UPDATE (2014/02/28): This song has grown on me a lot as FAWM has gone on, to the point where I've just flagged it as a "favourite"!)

Techie stuff: FunkBox supplies the rhythm pattern which runs throughout the song (augmented by hits from a GB drum machine instrument); the synth bass and the "brassy" synth are also GB instruments, whilst the "floaty" pad sound is a patch ("Freckles", under "Pads") from Yonac Software's excellent Galileo organ instrument app. Guitars are my Faith Saturn acoustic, and Ministar Testar electric (for the solo at the end).

lyrics

Those times we meet halfway
You know they tend to stay
With me
A smile shared - a thought guessed
I think we know the rest
Surely

[chorus]
In my time
Who knew
I'd walk this
Road with you

And when the words vanish
Somehow you can finish
My thoughts
Like brick walls, no way through
You show me they're moths to
Be caught
