about

Song 30 for the 50/90 Challenge (another milestone - yaay me), and the lyrics should give the listener the idea that I'm not entirely out of the "writer's-block woods" yet... Indeed, as one line suggests, I can't help but look back in amazement at some of my earlier 50/90 efforts - how on earth did I come up with some of those songs, and seemingly so easily?

The title came from the "Titular" random song title generator, and I'm mildly surprised at how well it fitted where I'm "at" right now... perhaps it's not quite as random as we think? [dee-doo-dee-doo, "Twilight Zone", etc. :-) ]

(Technical stuff: this is a Garageband/iPod Touch production end-to-end, including an electric rhythm guitar track.(Technical stuff: this is a Garageband/iPod Touch production end-to-end, including an electric rhythm guitar track. I feel the mix could be improved, so may go back and amend it when I have time...)

lyrics

Stare at the page, to see what appears
Illusions and lines arc from there through to here
Right words like mice to be coaxed from a hole
Offer cheese, 'cos they’re out of your control

[chorus]
Riding up a one-way street
Pushing water up a hill
Tell me how the notes come flowing back
Don't stop until
I see

Distant clouds huddle in the haze
Former compositions thrill and amaze
Once fertile fields languish parched and so bare
Hold out hope for signs of rain in the air
