about

In the spring of 2009, I went through a fairly prolific period when I was writing and recording a number of instrumental pieces. I intended them to be used as "library" (i.e. "production" or "stock") soundtrack material; however, an acquaintance of mine who has ample experience in that field, tactfully suggested they might work better in "album format". (With hindsight, I suspect many of these pieces have stronger melodic elements than would perhaps work well as "background" music, although not all fall into this category.)

This set, therefore, collects together most of the instrumental pieces I produced during 2009, along with a couple of older recordings which I felt fitted into the sequence. As for whether there will be a "Vol 2": well, only time will tell...

(Incidentally, the cover design incorporates the QR and Datamatrix 2D barcodes for the URL of my old blog. It doesn't currently work.)
