Starting out again Down paths I once knew well Tracing former trails worn down and passing where I fell Teaching myself to walk and to run The peaks to aim between A place to regain the hours that flew To uplands yet unseen The dust and time That fill my ears From far and near They lead me home And you remember when We mapped these winding tracks As mists descended all around You found our journey back So unfamiliar these pathways now seem No prints in the dust remain Did we walk together in last summer's dream And can we yet again? The dust and time...

Round the block - the umpteenth time A journey on the Circle line Except it's not a circle anymore Tracing steps already taken Landmarks recognised, and making Notes for when I pass this way once more And someday when it bothers me I've yet to find a race to run We can leave behind this chess game It's been done Dropping by - a flying visit The sort that makes me question: is it Fear or boredom leading this repeat It’s a mystery I cannot trace, where This ship’s velocity escaped My lifelong homeworld’s got a grip on me And someday when it bothers me... Keep your friends, and check your mates The travellers camped on your estate Those who take, or help you grow You’ll know when you need to know...

I see things clearer From a thousand miles away A different room that lacks One luxury to be OK I love you I left a Part of me at home I see things clearer From a thousand miles away I see us clearly From a thousand miles away While I'm away from you It makes a week of every day I love you I miss you And I will be home soon I see us clearly From a thousand miles away
