The night that song 9 was due, I felt - on the inspiration front - becalmed. Just nothing there… not even wheelspin. Then I spotted the Week 3 challenge (“Directions”), and almost instantly, a word came to mind: “turnaround”. Suddenly, the wind picked up… and how's that for a mix of metaphors? :-)

It's been a difficult week for me at times, and this coincided with a succession of other commitments, AND I feel I'm slap-bang in the middle of the FAWM "U-bend", which it seems always afflicts me at around this point in the "race". Still, I think this song has "something"... whatever one might feel that is!

Recorded in Garageband for iPad, with some more fine virtual-stickswork from "Kyle" (GB's new Drummer option is shaping up to be one of the stars of this FAWM!). I'm on electric (Ministar Testar) and bass (Squier Precision Special) guitars, and vocals (me), as well as adding a bit of "electric piano" via GB's "smart keyboard" instrument. Mixed in Logic.

(Looking back, I only have one thing I wish I'd done for this recording (and I can only assume I missed it because I was in a hurry): I really think I should've put in an instrumental break between the bridge and the last chorus. I know how I could do this "retrospectively", and I may try it in the future, but for now I'll let the recording stand as I made it.)
